End of year Poundbury Cyclesport team round up:
So the race season has come to an end for us and we ended it on a high, We took part in the Torq in your sleep 12 hour race at Minley manor back in August, where we came third.
It was a tough day, with temperatures into the high 20’s many of us were feeling the heat, but we all managed to put out consistently good lap times and we happily took a well earned spot on the podium.
The team has had great results nationally, regionally and locally.
Zoe narrowly missed getting on the podium for third overall in the regional series, which is great as this was her first year in the expert category.
Darren fininshed 15th overall in the Vets in the National series, his highest ever placing so he was very happy with consistent good results at the Nationals and also enjoyed consistent results at the Southern XC’s this year, all races providing different challenging but fun courses.
Marcus, Scott and Chris all came on board as well and did our jerseys proud at the southern xc’s with great results.
Nearer to home Jon has been a regular at the local TT’s always finishing in the top three and a top ten in the open.
Next up for Jon was the hill climb series organised by local clubs, a win at the Creech round of the Hill climb series and consistent results in the top ten means he narrowly missed taking home the overall title.
He also took the course record on Ridgeway at the summer CCWeymouth Hillclimb.
All in all it’s been a great first year for the team, thanks to everyone for your support and well done to everyone who donned a Poundbury Cyclesport jersey and did the team proud.
